The Merano region boasts an excellent network of cycle paths set amidst a diverse natural and cultural landscape. Whether it’s a leisurely family outing on e-bikes along the 2,000-year-old Roman road ‘Claudia Augusta’, cycling through unspoilt countryside along the Wine Route, or exciting mountain bike tours in the surrounding mountains and forests.
Popular day trips from Dorf Tirol include the Passeier Valley Cycle Path to St. Leonhard (gravel road) and the tarmac cycle path along the Adige. This cycle path starts at the Reschen Pass and runs alongside the Adige and, for the most part, the ancient Roman trade route Via Claudia Augusta, all the way to Lake Garda and beyond.
At the Wohlfühlhotel Ortler, you can safely store and charge your own bikes in the video-monitored underground car park.
Don’t have your bike with you? We recommend the nearby Tirol-Bike hire shop, which offers new, high-quality e-bikes for leisure cyclists and thrill-seekers alike. The staff there will also be happy to advise you on routes suited to your personal riding style.
